MISSION

Restore and Sustain the natural watercycle, by developing and implementing flow-with-nature technologies

ABOUT ETA

ETA was incubated in the innovative environment of Southern Cross University, and started as the brainchild of Dr Keith Bolton in his capacity as post-doctoral fellow at SCU, long before the company itself was formed.

Keith’s projects utilised University research mechanisms, funded by SCU. As the scale of the projects grew it became clear it was no longer feasible to run commercial projects through the University.

SCU developed a new model of commercialization to facilitate these new projects and Ecotechnology Australia was born. In October 2005 ETA received support from the Federal Government’s “Sustainable Regions Program” and was able to establish itself as a stand-alone entity from the University.

We have also taken on SCU intern students, honours and post graduate and under graduate students to work on cutting edge research and development projects.

SOUTHERN CROSS UNIVERSITY

Ecotechnology Australia (ETA) was incubated at the Centre for Ecotechnology at Sothern Cross University (SCU).

SCU is a well respected institution known for its strong Environmental Science faculty with innovation and willingness to move into new fields of research. The motto of SCU is “A new way to think”.

ETA maintains strong links with research and education at the University and is involved in employing graduates from the School of Environmental Science. Ecotechnology Australia’s managing director, Dr Keith Bolton, plays a major role as project manager for the Centre for Ecotechnology at SCU, of which he is a founding member.

The Centre for Ecotechnology (CET) organizes popular educational seminars and conventions and is at the forefront of research and development of the latest in Ecotechnology.

The CET’s motto is “Turning waste into resources by closing cycles locally, visibly and elegantly”.

SUSTAINABLE REGIONS

Sustainable Regions Program is a Federal Government initiative of project grants given to 6 or 7 regions with high structural unemployment.

The initiative was designed to give companies which met stringent selection criteria the opportunity to develop and expand their current levels of operation, creating more employment and stimulating local economies through the support and establishment of sustainable industries.
